Take measurements using this measurement video.
- Locate the waist line by tying a cord around the natural waist line.
- Identify the waist line from the back.
- Do not drop the cord to the navel if the navel has dropped below the natural waist line. That will give you poor fitting results.
- Take exact measurements.
- You can add ease for comfort later during the pattern making stage.
- Record measurements as you take them.
- Don’t take your own measurements. Let someone else take them.
- Wear good under garments when taking measurements.
- These measurements do not need to be take again unless there is a change in the body form.
- These measurements can be used for all clothing except hats and shoes.
